We are 'Vacationland' after all, but where did Maine rank in WalletHub's rankings of the '2016 Best & Worst States For Summer Road Trips'?

WalletHub.com took a look at the best and worst states for taking a summer road trip. It's that time of the year, when the family hits the road to head to the beach or the amusement park. About 85 percent of Americans are planning a summer vacation and nearly 90 percent of them will be behind the wheel.

WalletHub.com researched how happy each state is in the country. Their study used 25 metrics ranging from emotional health to income levels to sports participation rates.

Memorial Day, the unofficial start to summer, is just a few weeks away and Mainers and Americans will be taking to the roads for vacation. WalletHub.com did a study with 20 key metrics that ranked the fifty states in order of being the best for summer road trips.

Wallethub.com has complied their list of '2016's Greenest States'. They used 17 key metrics designed to illustrate each state’s environmental quality and the eco-friendliness of its policies.

Even though heating oil prices are down a lot lower this season, we still try to be energy efficient and save money where we can. So, how is Maine doing compared with the rest of the nation?
