The website onlyinyourstate.com has complied a list of '12 Terrifying Places in Maine'. We aren't talking about places like the DMV or the in-laws house, but places that you would swear are haunted. Let's take a look at their list.

1. Kennebec Arsenal in Augusta. It was formally used to house mentally ill and the cold, gray granite building is spooky. It's been closed since 2004.

2. Mount Hope Cemetery in Bangor. It is one of the filming locations for Stephen King's "Pet Sematary".

3. Pocomoonshine Lake in Washington County. I am not familiar with this lake or it's history. The article says that the lake has had stories of snake-like monsters since 1873. That's enough to keep me away!

4. The Kennebunk Inn in Kennebunk. Guests and past owners have claimed to have heard glasses shake and other unexplained noises.

5. Stephen King's House in Bangor. The king of horror lives in a home that fits his title.

6. Wood Island House Light in Saco Bay. It's said that the lighthouse is haunted by the ghost of fisherman, Howard Hobbs, who shot and killed his landlord Fred Milliken in 1896.

7. The Robie-Andrews Dormitory at the USM Gorham Campus. It was built in the 1800's and there have been many stories of suicide and murder. Students have reported hearing noises and feeling cold areas.

8. Brownville Road in Millinocket. The story has a newlywed couple driving on the road hit a telephone pole that killed the groom and the bride eventually froze to death in her wedding gown. There have been reports that travelers on the road have seen a woman in a wedding gown. Spooky!

9. The Lucerne Inn of Dedham. It's rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of victims of a murder-suicide that happened at the inn.

10. Fort Knox in Prospect. The fort was built in the 1800's and it's been said that the ghosts of many Maine soldiers haunt the fort. In fact, the television show 'Ghost Hunters' featured Fort Knox in one of there episodes.

11. Route 2A and the Haynesville Woods. It was once the main road that trucks hauled potatoes from Aroostook County and the road claimed many lives.

12. Post-Blizzard Portland Streets. Thankfully we didn't have to deal with that this winter! Parking bans send shivers down the spines of Portland residents.
