The Latest On Friday’s Maine State Police Involved Shooting
Just after noon on Friday, we got word that there had been an officer involved shooting that involved the Maine State Police. The incident happened earlier on Friday morning in the small town of Alton.
Other than that, we really did not know much.
Now, we have a much better picture of what happened.
According to WABI, just before 10 AM on Friday, Brewer police asked the Maine State Police to be on the lookout for a vehicle whose occupants had reportedly been involved in a domestic incident. That incident had reportedly began in the town of Milford sometime around 6 o'clock that morning.
After getting word that the vehicle was at a residence on Argyle Road in Alton, police went to the residence.
There, they reportedly found Djvan Carter allegedly assaulting a female passenger. When troopers arrived, Carter reportedly drove at the troopers. Maine State Police Corporal Blaine Silk shot Carter.
Both Carter and the female passenger remain at Eastern Maine Medical Center. The passenger's injuries are from the assault, not the shooting.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, but they say there is no danger to the public.
