The Waterville downtown revitalization efforts include a new traffic study that suggests that two-way traffic return to Main Street in Waterville.

The Waterville City Manager Michael Roy and a South Portland engineering consulting firm are said to be sending their proposal to the Maine Department of Transportation for a review.

The public should be able to see details of the study in October.

Main Street traffic was changed from two-way to one-way in 1957.

The city of Waterville spent $102,000 on the traffic study.
