UMA Dental Program Offers Kids Free Dental Care At Bangor Campus
According to WABI, the University of Maine at Augusta's Dental Hygiene program offers free dental care to children in need. Each year the University of Maine at Augusta teams up with the American Dental Association to offer dental care to children under 18 and do not have a dentist. The free dental care consists of a cleaning, dental exam, x-rays if needed, and fluoride treatment.
This event is usually a one-day event; however, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic this year and Covid- 19 restrictions, a second date has been added. The first free dental day is Friday, February 19th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, and the second date is set for March 12th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Those who are interested in making an appointment can do so by calling 207-262-7872 or visiting uma.edu. Due to the high demand for children's dental care, appointments will fill up quickly, and those who are unable to lock down a scheduled time will be put on a waitlist.
