Unemployed Wine Guy

YouTuber Prescott, or Unemployed Wine Guy, is a sommelier. (Or was, does that title cease when unemployed?) A sommelier is formally trained in the ways of the wine and works with guests at fine dining establishments and wineries and they are able to educate and assist guests with wine recommendations based on their tastes and pairing with various dishes.

Being unemployed due to the pandemic opened up an opportunity for Prescott to find his niche on YouTube and apparently, that's reviewing various beverages, other than wine, just as a sommelier would.

He has reviewed PBR Hard Coffee, Allen's Coffee Brandy, Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, Zima, Natty Daddy, Ranch Soda, and so much more. This week his beverage adventures brought him to Maine's beloved Moxie.

Moxie

Moxie is Maine's official soda. Ask around and you're likely to find that Mainers either love the stuff or hate it. But even if people dislike the taste there's still a sense of pride about the soda with deep New England roots and despite the fact that the drink is now owned by Coca-Cola.

Each year the town of Lisbon, Maine hosts The Moxie Festival which typically includes a block party, 5k, car show, live music, and more.

The Unemployed Sommelier's Take

The Unemployed Wine Guy has a sense of humor as dry as wine which is pretty hilarious. He describes the flavor notes that he can smell and so eloquently states that Moxie,

Smells like this is what they used to disinfect the barbershop razors right before they gave ol' granddad a neck shave.

About five and a half minutes in he recommends the dishes he would pair Moxie with such as salted meats and pickled eggs.
