What, the possibility of eliminating the dreaded vehicle inspection in Maine?

There are a few bills in the works regarding either the elimination of the vehicle inspection or lengthening the time between vehicle check ups.

State Senator Dave Miramant (D) from Camden says in his proposal new vehicles would only be up for vehicle inspection every four years and older vehicles would only require inspections every two years.

There a are few exceptions, excluded from the proposed changes would be commercial vehicles, trailers and semitrailers.

State Senator David Dutremble (D) from Biddeford is also sponsoring a bill that would only require a vehicle inspection every two years.

There are currently only 18 states that require a vehicle inspection.
