Walmart is Doing Away with Savings Catcher Program

The app that helped consumers save some extra bucks at Walmart is coming to an end.

Walmart rolled out the app a few years back. All you had to do was scan the barcode on your Walmart receipt and if a competitor had an item advertised for less, you got the cash back within the app.

Why end the program? According to their website,

Since the introduction of the program, we’ve worked hard to lower prices on thousands of everyday items across our stores, which has resulted in our prices winning the vast majority of the time when you submit receipts to Savings Catcher.

No worries if you have money still in the app. Your balance will remain until you spend it.

The program will officially be discontinued after May 14th.
