More and more people are living to 100 years old and more these days and according to the U.S. Census by the year 2040 there will be 580,000 people in America that are 100 or older, currently there are 84,000. With medical research and the push for healthy living and eating, the age of men and women is increasing. There are 7 things you should be doing if you want to live to 100.

First, ‘socialize’, talk to a family member or friend every day.  Next, ‘eat well’, most that live to an older age eat a balanced diet or eat organic. Third, ‘sleep’, it is very important to get at least 8 hours a day. Fourth, ‘laugh’, as they say laughter is the best medicine. Next on the list is to ‘be at peace’, whether you pray or meditate most people that live to 100 say they do it every day. Sixth on the list is ‘volunteer’, do charity work on a regular basis, not only can you help those that need it but it will also give you something to do and somewhere to go. Last is ‘act like a teenager’, things like send a text message, listen to music or watch YouTube. Another thing most 100 year old's say that helps them is living close to nature and of course, light exercise. It’s not guaranteed you will live to be a hundred by doing these things but it couldn’t hurt.
