According to the KJ, the waterslides at the Alfond Municipal Pool in Waterville are finally open!

On Thursday afternoon, Quinn Morris and Amanda Shirley took the first rides down the two slides.  Following the inaugural rides, over 100 other kids took their turn on the slides.

The project, which cost over $760,000, has been in the works since 2016.  It really took off in the Spring of 2018, when the Harold Alfond Foundation made a $570,000 and Vortex Aquatic Structures International was contracted to build the slides.

Looks like a lot of fun!

There's still a few days left in the season to enjoy the cool new attraction.  The pool is open today (8/16) until 7 PM, and tomorrow (8/17) and Sunday (8/18) from 11 AM to 6 PM.
