I'm not sure what other schools are doing are doing around the state and in central Maine.  But, I have seen some announcing that they are pulling the Teacher Workshop scheduled for tomorrow.  That is not the case for Augusta, since my kids go there.  But, I agree with the decision other schools have made.

If you've  had enough of seeing April, the giraffe, populating your newsfeed on Facebook...then you're not alone.  I will admit, I sneaked a peek for the first three days.  But, now we're over a week of watching nothing.  I'm beginning to think this is just one big April Fool's joke.  (And now that I've written this, you watch...she'll finally pop.)

I need a little humor today and stumbled across this priceless video.  A series of internet posts where people clearly misspell P-R-E-G-N-A-N-T!  The posts, in general, are silly...but the guy reading them...he's just brings this wonderful bit together.  I lost it at Prrrregante!  And Gregnant.  Spell check folks!

It's scary being a parent.  When you bring a baby home, things that you never thought as dangerous quickly becomes a hazard.  I've seen a lot of people announcing that they are expecting a baby.  (There must be something in the water...and I'm not gonna drink it) Congratulations to all of you.  But watch this video closely.

The website Niche.com has complied their list of the '2016 Best School Districts In Maine'. The make their rankings they used a formula of the strength of academics, quality of teachers, school resources, the quality of student life, as well as student and parent reviews, in an attempt to measure the overall excellence of the district.

I'm not usually a huge mommy bragger...but, this is a parenting first for me.  I'm officially the mother to a licensed driver.  The possibilities are endless, and I'm so excited.  I'm also scared out of my mind at the thought of him being on the road...with all the impatient drivers of the world.  So, I have this request:

The Portland Science Center is hosting an extraordinary exhibit featuring the Titanic.  When you enter, all visitors are given a replica boarding pass.  The pass looks like what a passenger of the actual Titanic was given.  Then you will tour in chronological order the life of the Titanic.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month.  I have 6 kids...5 who are actively on some form of social media.  I talk to my kids daily about what they've been up to and I check their phones to see if what they tell me is the truth.  But, even though I hope I can trust them...I still have to have my guard up.  Watching these videos absolutely petrifies me.

According to Women's Health, this massage is ALL the rage in the UK. But, could we get away with it in the great USA?  This brings 'Happy Ending' to a whole new level...and it's all to prevent cancer and promote a good healthy muffin.  It starts with prep work and finishes with a ceremony.

A local school teacher recently taught her students the mating rituals of the praying mantis.  For those who don't know this, after these insects procreate, the female proceeds to kill the male.  This creep-crawly ceremony was caught on video at Stepping Stones Montessori School in Chelsea earlier this week.

Coming up Saturday morning, the Conquer Chiari Walk Across America walk will take place.  This is the first time the walk, organized by Conquer Chiari, will be in Central Maine.  The event is to help raise awareness about chiari malformation and to bring those conquering this neurological disorder together.  It will be held at the Quarry Road Recreation in Waterville.

My biggest pet peeve of the kids going back to school...Picture Day!!  My kids haven't even been in school for a full week and I'm already getting notices that picture day is coming!  The notices aren't even pieces of paper sent home in their folders.  No, these are emails.  They do emails now!!  Not just once...but 6 times.  So, my phone dings as though I'm getting an test message...I look...PICT
