12 Year Old Florida Boy Continues Running In Honor Of Fallen Hero’s
According to WABI TV 5, a 12-year-old Florida resident has kept the tradition of running in honor of fallen heroes.
This tradition was started by Zechariah Cartledge when he was just a young child wanting to honor those who have fallen. Zechariah even ran a mile back in 2019 in honor of one of Maines's very own men in blue, Maine State Police Detective Ben Campbell.
Zechariah's love for honor locals heroes has only grown and hasn't since turned into a local nonprofit organization called Running 4 Heroes.
As of Monday, 12-year-old Zechariah Cartledge has run more than 1,000 miles spread across 20 states, and the craziest part, he's done it all in the last three years. Zechariah doesn't only run for fallen first responders and heroes, and he has also raised more than $172,000. All proceeds raised go directly to benefits injured first responders and support the families of those lost in the line of duty.
Donations can be made directly to the organization by visiting running4heroes.org/donate.
