Important Central Maine Traffic Update

We have an important update to a potential traffic issue that we told you about earlier this week.

According to a post on the City of Auburn's Facebook page, there was likely to be a serious traffic issue on Wednesday morning due to the transport of a massive power transformer through the city.

The transport of that transformer was supposed to begin at 8 a.m., and was expected to take several hours to complete, causing serious traffic delays.  People who normally travel the affected streets were asked to find an alternate route to their destination.

However, it now looks like that transport will not take place on Wednesday.

According to an article on the WMTW website, the transport of the transformer will not take place on Wednesday.  The article also explains that they have not yet set a new date for the transport.

It is important to keep in mind that in total, there will be four massive transformers moving through the city.  So over the next few weeks, there will be four days when you will need to seek an alternate route.
