Many Maine Schools Offering Extended Education Into Summer
Nothing about our world has been normal since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March of 2020. Not only did everyday life change for adults who are in the workforce, but it really affected school-aged kids also.
Students had to learn skills they'd never used before while trying to stay up to date with assignments. Sadly, over the course of the past year and a half, several students fell behind and are still struggling to get caught up.
According to Centralmaine.com, several Maine school districts will be offering extended educational programs throughout the Summer. Even though the Maine Department of Education doesn't keep track of enrollment in summer school courses, these programs will offer students who are struggling in school a little jump start on fall or the opportunity to get caught up on things they didn't understand.
So, if you think your child could use a little extra educational help throughout the summer, reach out to your local school district and see what they might have to offer.
