Country News: New Music Coming in 2017
It has been 14 years since Shania Twain released an album, and the singer says her next project will be available in the spring of 2017. Twain describes her new music as painful and melancholy ballads that evolved into completely upbeat songs.
Reba McEntire made a big announcement on Thursday evening. Reba shared the news of a forthcoming gospel album and solo show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. McEntire will release Sing It Now: Songs of Faith and Hope on February 3. The project is a double album consisting of 10 classic hymns and 10 new songs. The country legend will also perform her first-ever solo show at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium on February 15.
The slate of new country albums is filling up with several slotted for early 2017 and dozens more coming later, or rumored to be coming by year’s end. Brantley Gilbert, Reba McEntire, Little Big Town, Lauren Alaina, Brad Paisley and Brett young have new albums coming in 2017. Artists who have confirmed recording new music with an eye on a 2017 release include: Brett Eldredge, Granger Smith, Tyler Farr, Kelsea Ballerini and Shania Twain.
