A National Guard family who lost their home to a fire last week has been seeing the generosity of central Maine residents and businesses.

Steve and Jessie Eastman and their two children lost their home in a fire on May 28th on Riverside Drive in Augusta. The family lost two dogs and two cats in the fire and all their belongings.

Donations for the Eastmans will be accepted through Monday at the Military Family Assistance Office at the Buker Center in Augusta.

Area Veterans Groups have organized benefit events for the family.

Donations are also being accepted online at GiveForward.com. The efforts on the website has raised more than $3,000.
