After four straight weeks of gas prices dropping locally, Maine drivers will be paying a little more to fill up at the pumps this week.

According to the price monitoring site Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of gas in Maine this week is $2.262, which is up nearly two cents from last weeks average of $2.243.

Nationally, prices have gone up, too. The average price for a gallon of gas nationally is at $2.328, which is up over three cents from last weeks average of $2.284.

We searched locally for the lowest gas prices in Central Maine.

In Augusta, the lowest prices we could find were at the Kenoco Station on Western Ave, the Mobil Station on Bangor St, and the Irving Station on the corner of Melville St and Western Ave. All three checked in with gas at $2.19 a gallon.

In Waterville, the lowest price we could find for a gallon of gas was at the Citgo Station on Elm St, which is selling gas at $2.25 a gallon.
