The great-niece of Johnny Cash, Courtney Cash, was found stabbed to death in her home in Cookeville, Tennessee.   Cash lived with her boyfriend and young child who were able to escape the attack. The murder occurred on Wednesday, March 19th, and police have identified the killer.

Wayne Gary Masciarella, 27, has been charged with the murder of Courtney Cash, whose body was found just inside the front door of her home. Her boyfriend, William Austin Johnson was able to escape with their young child but he was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center and treated for stab wounds. The child was o.k.

It seems the three were friends having gone out before the stabbing took place. Police are calling it a friendship gone bad, friends hanging out, an altercation broke out and one person is dead. A motive has not been released but is believed the stabbings were related to drugs.
