According to the KJ, a local group of development leaders is planning to dole out grants of up to $5,000 to businesses in Somerset County.

The grants, which are intended to help businesses survive amid the economic downturn brought on by the pandemic, are intended to be used to help those businesses pay bills.  The grants could be used to pay for rent, utilities, insurance, or any number of other bills.

Christian Savage, executive director of Somerset Economic Development Corp., said they have spent the last few months raising funds for the Community Economic Resource Council.  Donations began with a $25,000 contribution from Somerset Economic Development Corp., which was then matched by the Somerset County Commissioners.

Businesses that would like apply for the grant have until July 31st to do so.  For more information click HERE
