Each year the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management release a list of the top companies to work for in Maine. There are three different brackets that companies can fall into depending on their size. Small companies that employ 15-49 employees medium businesses that employ 50-249 employees and large businesses that employ more than 250. Let's take a look at some of the businesses that are top contenders for potential job seekers to consider.

According to WMTW, some of the companies that made the top 26 in the 'small' bracket include Saco Valley Credit Union, Octane Marketing of Portland, Maine Information Network of Augusta and Main-Land Development Consultants Inc of Livermore Falls and Falmouth. Coming in at number one for small businesses was Acadia Benefits Inc of Portland.

Taking a look at some of the best medium companies to work for in Maine and you'll find Bernstein Shur of Portland and Augusta, Maine State Credit Union of Augusta and Waterville, Finance Authority of Maine in Augusta, Harriman Associates of Auburn and Portland and Skowhegan Savings Bank. Coming in at the medium company top spot is Wings for Children and Families.

Now let's move up to the large company list. Remember these are businesses that employ 250+ workers. Some of the top 19 include Maine General Health, T-Mobile Call Center in Oakland, Bangor Savings Bank, Hancock Lumber, Darling's Dealerships, and Publishers Clearing House in Portland. Coming in at the top spot for large businesses is Machias Savings Bank.
