Hey Maine Beer Lovers, Lost Valley’s Oktoberfest Is This Saturday
These days, Maine really is a beer lover's paradise, isn't it? We have not really done the research on this, but we feel okay saying that Maine (probably) has more breweries per capita than any other New England state.
Of course, when you live in a state where there are lots of breweries, there is a good chance you are never far from a great brewfest. It seems like every other weekend throughout the summer and fall there is a "must visit" brewfest.
And, there's another one coming up this weekend!
According to an event posting on their Facebook page, Lost Valley ski area is going to be holding their annual Oktoberfest event on Saturday, September 30th.
The event, which runs from noon to 9 PM, will officially get kicked off at 12:30 with the tapping of the kegs on the deck.
Right after the kegs are tapped, a Bavarian band will play.
Other events include a keg toss competition and a stein hoisting competition.
Of course, attendees will have a chance to sample all kinds of German beers and German-style beers.
With a ski mountain as a backdrop, holding an event like this at a ski area makes perfect sense. Can you think of a more perfect place? Yeah, we can't, either.
If you are planning to partake, admission prices start at just $30 and include a tasting mug. If you are going to be the designated driver (or, you just don't want to drink) you can get tickets in advance for only $15.
For all the information, check out the Lost Valley website.
