I guess there has been a controversy going on for years (I have never heard of this) about the ‘hot dog’. ‘Is the hot dog a sandwich or not?'

The invention of the hot dog goes back to 1870 when a New York vendor started selling sausages in rolls. They say there have been millions of arguments about the hot dog, is it or isn’t it a sandwich. (again, I never heard of this) but, the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, America’s foremost authority on all hot dog related matters has settled the debate.

The verdict is…the hot dog is not a sandwich. They say it’s in a category of its own. The council says calling the hot dog ‘just a sandwich’ is like calling the Dalai Lama ‘just a guy’.
