Kennebunk Students Sailboat Makes it All the Way to Scotland

A small sailboat from Maine has made it all the way across the Atlantic Ocean to Scotland.

High school students in Kennebunk made a five foot sailboat with a blue and white sail with a solar panel, camera and sensors. The sail was a little tattered but everything else seemed to still be intact.

The sail boat was found on a remote island in Scotland by a Canadian tourist walking his dog. The 5 foot boat made the trip across the Atlantic in 168 days and 12 hours.

According to usnews.com the students even put tiny Lego pirate on the sailboat and it survived the journey as well.
