Kenney Awards Being Changed To Outdoor Augusta Event

This is usually the time of year that the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual Kenney Awards is in it's final stages of preparing fo the live gala event in late January. But not this year.

According to a report on centralmaine.com, this year things will be different. The event will be shifting and instead of a formal event at the Augusta Civic Center, the celebration will be held outdoors at Augusta's Mill Park.

It's also a special year, this will celebrate its 90th anniversary. The "Kenneys" as they are known will take place on July 15th, from 4:30-10 p.m.. The event will still require tickets to attend, and the plan is to have a stage under a big tent, as well as a band, and even fireworks to cap off the evening.

Mark it on the calendar and get ready for a spectacular evening.
