Kristi Is No Longer The Most Important Lady In Her Sons Life

I'm not crying, you're crying...

Wait... Now that you say it, my eyes are kinda blurry and my cheeks feel a little damp...

Alright, alright... I AM CRYING!

Yesterday my son Logan came home from school with some serious news to share. As he made his way thru the front door his swagger was so present that you couldn't miss it. The kind that just radiates when you're confident in who you are.

Logan promptly leaned himself on the counter, looked at his dad, and stated "I have something to tell you and it's that I have a girlfriend". "I sent her a note in class and asked her to be my girlfriend... and she circled yes"!

I asked just how serious this relationship was, and his response was "well pretty serious she said I love you to me". Of course, my initial reaction was "did he just say, love?". Clearly, by the look on my face, he knew what I was thinking, but no worries he quickly informed me that SHE SAID IT FIRST... AND HOW COULD HE NOT SAY IT BACK?

You may think "I love you's" are too soon considering they are only in the 5th grade, but what you don't understand is he has liked her since 3rd grade.

Logan's dad and I have met this sweetie a few times and her name is Bella. Those who know us know that Bella is Logan's sister's name, but she goes by B. When telling B, all about his new flame, Logan thanked her for going by B because "It would be soooo weird having a sister and a girlfriend named Bella. HAHAHAHAHA.

The best part of this whole story, Logan saved the note and is officially the most sentimental 5th grader I know!
