If you've been following the development of the Lockwood Hotel in Waterville, you can almost feel the excitement all around the city of Waterville.

According to Mainebiz.com, the "hotel" itself will not be ready for "check-in" until sometime next spring. For the time being the Lockwood will be used for housing Colby College students that are still feeling the effects of the pandemic which has interrupted some study abroad opportunities.
Also if that seems like an odd partnership be sure to keep in mind that the hotel/restaurant and building are owned by Colby College but the college wants it to be known that this property is about Waterville more than Colby College. Something the community has seemed to embrace very nicely. One area that is open, alive, and doing very well, is the ground floor which is home to the new fancy, and you know how I love all things fancy.
The restaurant called "Front & Main", has been open since March and has been a fan favorite since. You maybe even see this new restaurant future on a "Buzz & Kristi Food Adventure", stay tuned. With the addition of the hotel/restaurant, you may also notice that Maine street and Front street will now be two-way streets again.
So if you get a chance to, stop by and check out all the excitement that is happening. Oh and I hear they have a great beer selection, let us know how you like it.
