Maine Gas Prices Sharply Higher This Week

The price-monitoring website, GasBuddy.com, states that gas prices in Maine have gone up around three cents per gallon over the past week. The statewide average is now at $2,26 per gallon.

Nationally, gas prices went up by exactly three cents per gallon for an average gas price of $2.25 per gallon.

The lowest reported gas prices in Maine were reported in Auburn and Wells at $2.09 per gallon.

It's the first time in many weeks that no state has an average gas price of under $2 per gallon. Texas has the lowest average gas prices in the country at $2 per gallon.

It's also the first time in a long time that gas prices are higher in Maine than they were at the same time one year ago.
