Mainers May Vote On Minimum Wage Increase In 2016 [POLL]

A group announced earlier this week that they'll be collecting signatures to get a minimum wage increase on the ballot in 2016.

The group will need to gather more than 60,000 signatures to put the question on the ballot.

The referendum would increase the minimum wage from $7.50 an hour to $9.00 an hour in 2017. It would increase by one dollar a year until 2020 when it reaches $12.00 an hour.

Opponents say that raising the minimum wage would be a job killer.
