Would You Support A $9.50 Hourly Minimum Wage In Maine?
The Maine House of Representatives voted for a bill to increase the state's $7.50 minimum wage to $9.50 by 2018.
The bill would increase the minimum wage to $8 in October and then 50 cents each year until it reached $9.50 in 2018.
The bill passed by an 81-66 vote and that is not enough to override a likely veto by Governor LePage.
Opponents of raising the minimum wage are concerned that it would kill jobs.
What do you think? Would you support raising Maine's minimum wage to $9.50 an hour?
