Elizabeth Ireland from Old Town was angry after she found out that her 11-year old son was denied a hot lunch at J.A.Leonard School earlier this week. Ireland owed $53 on her son's school lunches, and as of this past Monday until the end of the school year, students who owe money on their school lunch accounts won't be fed, that's according to RSU 34 Superintendent David Walker.Walker told the Bangor Daily News that the policy isn't new and that 'we don't want a child to go without lunch, but at the same token, the taxpayers expect us to collect what's due to us.'

Ireland told the Bangor Daily News, 'I don't think a child shouldn't eat is ever the answer.' She adds that the policy punishes the child for the mistakes of the parent.

What do you think? Do you agree with the school policy?
