
Police Identify Woman Found Dead In New Vineyard, Maine
According to a press release from the Maine State Police, the decedent in a Tuesday morning incident in New Vineyard is 43 year old Collette Daggett, of New Vineyard. Daggett was reported a beloved member of the community.
The press released explained that the initial call for assistance came in at 10:49 AM on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021. The caller reported that his vehicle was in a pond at the end of Miller Road and that he and his wife needed assistance.
The press release went on to say:
Upon their arrival, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office made contact with the male individual and found the female lying on the shore of the pond and she was determined to be deceased by first responders. The male (Wilfred Daggett) was transported to the Franklin Memorial Hospital and later released.
An autopsy was done on Dagett's body on Wednesday, but the results were not released.
Law enforcement continues to interview witnesses and family about the situation that led up to the incident.
According to WMTW, Daggett was well-know youth sports coach and a beloved member of the Franklin County community.
