New Yorkers Arrested in Auburn for Passing Counterfeit Bills
two men and a woman were arrested at Home Depot in Auburn after attempting to purchase high value items with apparent counterfeit bills. Authorities were called to the store where two of the individuals attempted to flee but all three suspects were inevitably arrested.
Police say they have been travelling around Maine to different Home Depot stores to purchase high value items. At one store, they were able to by $3,500.00 worth of merchandise with the counterfeit money. Upon searching the car, authorities found a 'large amount' of what they believe to all be counterfeit cash.
All three suspects are being held on $25,000 cash bail, which they'll have to pay with real money.
