Nixie, The Drone That Takes Selfies

So, you like to take selfies, of course you do, in fact, you ‘love’ taking selfies. Students at UC Berkley have made it easier to photograph you, with ‘Nixie’ the drone.

You can take ‘Nixie’ with you anywhere because you wear it on your wrist, it’s a tiny bracelet that you can take off anytime, throw it in the air and it takes a selfie automatically and then returns to you. How great is that, you can indulge your need for self-gratification, all day long.

‘Nixie’ launches off you wrist, reorients to frame YOU in the shot, then hovers back to you so you can catch it. The bad news, it’s just a prototype and is still in its early stages. The good news is they have received $50,000 in Intel’s Make It Wearable competition and all mentorship for design help and tech support.
