Pier 1 Imports Closing 450 Stores – Possible Bankruptcy

According to a report by Bloomberg, Pier 1 Imports says it will close 450 stores and is also preparing to file for bankruptcy. The report also indicates that Pier 1 Imports will initially cut almost 40% of its staff. If they do close 450 stores that will represent about half of all it's currently operating stores. No word on which stores will close, or if the store at The Augusta Marketplace is in danger of shutting down.
