On Monday Poland Spring, the most popular bottled water brand in the Northeast, announced that they will be using 100% recycled plastic for all of their non carbonated water containers, the Associated Press reports.

The article states the decision comes due to a growing concern about the pollution of plastic and as the bottled water industry faces continued criticism over its use of plastic.

Poland Spring says the switch will happen as soon as this month beginning with their one liter bottles. They hope to have all of the non carbonated water bottles made with 100% recycled plastic by 2022, according to the article.

The company says it's their way of helping Nestle Waters North America to reach its goals of 25% recycled plastic by 2021 and 50% recycled plastic by 2025.
