Portland Schools Are Considering Changing The Start Time For High School Students

Portland Public Schools are considering changing the start time for high school students. The new plan would push back the start time by 35 minutes and students would stay later in the afternoon.

Their school day would change from 8 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. to 8:35 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.

The new plan would also allow Portland high school students to ride Metro buses after school at a reduced rate.

The plan has the full support of the school board and the board is expected to vote on it this spring.
