A rare Unicorn Root was discovered this summer in Bowdoin. What makes this so special is it was last seen in Maine 130 years ago.
The Unicorn Root is a tall flowering stalk with white flowers. It only appears from June through August. The last time a Unicorn Root was collected in Maine was in 1887 near Lewiston.
According to wmtw.com there were 300 flowering stems found in Bowdoin.
