With the warmer weather comes road construction season. Road work is set to start today on the much traveled U.S. Route 202 between Winthrop and Lewiston.

The Maine D.O.T. has scheduled a pair of projects for the road that will continue for much of the summer.

Repaving will begin today from Winthrop to just east of the Leeds/Monmouth town line. That paving project is scheduled to be done by the end of June. Then crews will be creating a center-line rumble strip from Winthrop to Lewiston.

Road work is also set for Route 133 from Winthrop to the fore station in Wayne. That will begin in late May or early June.

Expect delays during the morning and evening commutes.
