Stars Aid California Firefighters
Celebrity chef, Guy Fieri and Foo Fighters Drummer Dave Grohl have shown up in California to provide food for the fire fighters doing their job fighting the Camp, Woolsey, and Hill fires currently burning in California. Close to 200,000 acres have burned, and almost 10,000 structures have burned.
The Hill Fire is 94% contained, but the Camp fire and Woolsey fire are still going at an alarming rate with the Camp fire being the deadliest wildfire in California's history, claiming 48 lives so far.
Yesterday, Dave Grohl showed up to fire stations in Los Angeles, bringing BBQ to the firefighters, thanking them for their service.
Guy Fieri, who lives in Sonoma county, 200 miles away from the Camp fire, also showed up with home cooked meals for the fire fighters in Butte County. This is not the first time this occurred. Last year he teamed up with the Salvation Army to help feed wildfire evacuees and volunteers in Sonoma County. And earlier this year he helped cook meals for firefighters and people who had lost their homes in the Carr fire.
So far, my family near those areas are safe, and their homes are intact.
