School in Cape Elizabeth, Maine was cancelled today "out of an abundance of caution" after a high school student allegedly made threats. Police arrested a 17 year old juvenile and charged him with terrorizing.

According to WMTW, the teenager, who's name was not released, was arrested after posting what was called "disturbing information." A SWAT team was called to an apartment building in South Portland. The team executed a search warrant without incident. The case was then turned over to the Cape Elizabeth police department. The 17 year old was a student at the high school.

Interim Superintendent Howard Colter told WMTW earlier in the day that police were investigating it as a "safety issue." In a letter to parents, the school wrote "Although there was no direct threat to the school community or any individuals or groups within the school in the social media postings, there were images of firearms and generalized expressions of anger."

Schools in Cape Elizabeth are expected to be open tomorrow.
