The NBA Finals start Thursday and it’s a repeat of last year’s final with the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs. The Heat won last year’s series in seven games, this year they open in San Antonio as the Spurs had the best record in the NBA.

The two teams played twice this year each winning once. San Antonio beat Miami 111-87 and Miami beat San Antonio 113-101. Both teams made it to the finals by winning their respective conference 4 games to 2.

Why the Spurs will win:

Coach Greg Popovich is the best in the business and the Spurs have a deep bench with no player averaging more than 30 minutes a game in the regular season. They had the best record in the league this year and move the ball extremely well. The Spurs were 10 seconds away from the title last year when Ray Allen of Heat hit a miracle three point shot to send the game into overtime where Miami won.

Why the Heat will win:

LeBron James, love him or hate him, he is the best in NBA. The Heat are two time defending champions and would like nothing more than to win three in a row.  They have great penetration into the lane but can also hit the three- pointer with Wade, James, Bosch and Allen and that stretches a defense.

Most are predicting the Heat in 6.
