Things have come a long way since my dominance over "Donkey Kong" in the early 80's, little did I know now you can even earn a degree in game playing!

Always looking to be ahead of curve and offer credible and timely programs, Thomas College of Waterville is set to launch a new major next fall (2022). A degree in eSports & Gaming Administration.

The world of electronic sports is growing by leaps and bounds each year with no signs of stopping, or even slowing down for that matter.

Thomas College has seen this trend and first introduced a "esports team" back in 2019. Thomas College believes in esports so much it has a new state of the art building that will be opening in 2022 that is going to be wired to host esports competitions.

According to a report by Mainebiz, Thomas College Provost Thomas Edwards said:

“Esports is a billion-dollar industry so creating a degree program that melds a solid business foundation with a focus on this exploding field is a perfect fit for our students,”

According to the Thomas College website, "Gaming Administration" is one of the fastest growing fields within sport management.

What an exciting time for Maine and gaming, now if I could just turn back the hands of time so I could enroll for that major.
