A 41-year-old Maine man is facing several charges, and recovering from his injuries, after the owner of a home that he allegedly attempted to burgle fought back.

According to an article on the WABI website, Brunswick police say a man is facing a long list of charges after a scary early-morning break-in that turned violent.

It happened around 6:41 Saturday morning on Linnell Circle in Brunswick.  Officers were reportedly called out for a report of a shirtless man yelling in the neighborhood.

When police arrived, they found 41-year-old Timothy Miller of Brunswick with multiple injuries to his face and body.

Investigators say the homeowner woke up to find Miller had broken into the house.  Police say Miller then attacked the homeowner with a baseball bat while also armed with a knife.  The homeowner fought back, and that’s how Miller ended up hurt.

Police say the two men know each other.

Officers also say Miller was trying to break into another home as they arrived.

Miller was taken to Mid Coast Hospital for treatment.  Police say he will be held without bail once he’s released.

He’s now charged with burglary, aggravated assault, criminal mischief, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, and violating conditions of release.

Miller is expected to go before a judge in April.
