Julie and Rich Morgan spent just two years living in Battle Creek, and Steve's Pizza left a lasting impression on them. After 2 decades of being gone from Battle Creek, they decided to make the trip back to visit their favorite pizza place. Unfortunately tragedy struck when Rich was diagnosed with a form of salivary gland cancer and only given a few weeks to live.

On October 16, Steve’s Pizza has made another impression on the couple, this time because of an extraordinary act of kindness by one of its employees. Unbeknownst to them, Julie's dad contacted Steve's Pizza and spoke to Dalton, a manager there. He told Dalton a little bit about the situation and asked if the shop might send a friendly text or card to them. Dalton immediately asked what kind of pizza they'd like and drove 225 miles to deliver it to them. All on his own dime.

At 2:30 AM, Dalton rolled into their driveway, left the car running and delivered two extra special pizzas. He told them they were in his prayers, and offered to help in any way he could. Her dad offered to put him up in a hotel, but he refused and immediately left for the return trip home because he had to work the next day.

Dalton is an above average human, and Steve's pizza is now on my list of pizza places to visit in the country.
