Events for the Winslow Family 4th of July Celebration are now less than a month away and around 80 volunteers are still needed for the five-day event. Event Committee Chairman Kevin Douglass told the Kennebec Journal that around 20 volunteers of the needed 100 have signed up to help and in past years, all the needed volunteers had already committed by the end of May.Fundraising for the Winslow 4th of July continues, with $15,000 raised for the $100,000 event. The Winslow 4th of July Celebration draws about 70,000 people each year.

All the events are free to the public (except food and beverages) and this year look for B-98.5 to be there!

On Sunday, June 30th join us at Fort Halifax Park in Winslow for 'Country Sunday'. The day will feature five local country bands playing between noon and 9 p.m., also that afternoon, there will be a 'huge surprise' announced between 3 and 4:30 p.m.

Join B-98.5 on July 2nd, It's a Family Fun Day that will feature acoustic music, Tickles The Clown, A Hot Dog eating contest, a Whoopie Pie eating contest and Wrestling in the Park, with yours truly as ring announcer!

The Bee Van and B-98.5 personalities will also be in the Winslow 4th of July Parade that starts at 10 a.m. of July 4th.
