Warning: Nationwide Peach Recall
The United States Food & Drug Administration along with Prima Wawona of Fresno, California are issuing a recall of its Wawona, Wawona Organic brand conventional and organic bagged peaches due to the possibility that the products could be contaminated with Salmonella.
Check your homes for the recalled peaches. These were packed and supplied by Wawona Packing Company from June st through August 19th.
Keep in mind this recall is not for peaches sold as loose fruit or in bulk. This recall is strictly focused on bagged peaches. Here is a list of the brands and product codes to be on the lookout for:
- Wawona Peaches – 033383322001
- Wawona Organic Peaches – 849315000400
- Prima® Peaches – 766342325903
- Organic Marketside Peaches – 849315000400
- Kroger Peaches – 011110181749
- Wegmans Peaches – 077890490488
You can find the product codes at the bottom of each package.
This is a nationwide recall, including Maine. Some of the other states the bagged peaches were distributed to according to the FDA recall notice include:
"Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin."
Keep in mind these recalled peaches were sold at different stores including Walmart & Target, and also under various brand names. If you can’t tell where your peaches are from, don’t eat them. Throw them out.
