Despite the fact that many of the state's 4th of July celebrations have been cancelled, due to concerns about spreading the coronavirus, you can still see fireworks on July 4th...  If, you're willing to drive.

At this time, the town of Greenville still plans to hold a fireworks display to celebrate the nation's birthday.

According to a post on the town's Facebook page, the fireworks will happen at the municipal airport on Saturday, July 4th, at 9 PM.

There are, of course, some guidelines that need to be followed if you plan to attend.  They ask that people observe social distancing, that people only park in designated areas, and that attendees respect airport property.

If you are making the trip from Central Maine, the best way to get there is by taking Route 201 through Skowhegan.  Then, get on Rt 16 in Moscow.  Finally, take Route 6 north in Abbot.
