Maine Hero Firefighter Battling Rare Cancer Needs a Donor; Are You a Match?
These days, it seems that everything is so stressful. The world is stressful! The holidays are stressful.
Yet, our local heroes, like our medical personnel and first responders, all seem to take the stress in stride. They are so strong. You'd never see or hear them complain about it; they are genuinely grateful for life.
Why is why, when one of them needs our help, we need to step up and help them.
According to a Facebook event made by Hope For Adam - Be The Match, Adam Zibura of Windsor, Maine, is battling a rare type of cancer, and he needs YOUR help.
Sadly, on top of being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a blood and bone marrow cancer, Adam also suffers from an extremely rare genetic condition, making it hard for Adam to find a 100% donor match.
Adam is a longtime volunteer firefighter for Windsor and is a full-time emergency dispatcher for State of Maine Public Safety. He gives his all to everyone he encounters, whether he sees them on the clock or off.
At this time, Adam needs a donor. Maybe you might be his match?
So, how can you help?
The best way to help Adam get the treatment he needs and deserves is by finding out if you're a match or by donating to their GoFundMe page.
You can sign up for a match test at beamatch.org.
Let's hope Adam can find the donor he needs and soon.
