In a new study by JAMA Pediatrics, Maine is leading the country with the highest percentage of children with a mental health disorder.

The study revealed that in Maine about 1 in 4 kids has a mental health disorder such as depression, anxiety, or ADHD, according to a WGME report. The study also revealed that nearly half of all children with these disorders are not receiving care, attributing this to not having enough providers or resources, as well as fear of stigma.

If you're looking for support and education on mental health, NAMI Maine is a great place to start. If you're looking for professional help for your child, researchers recommend starting the conversation with the child's pediatrician.
