A Closer Look Into Sarah’s Head

A lot of people have taken their time to research Chiari Malformation.  I wanted to share my MRI image that shows some of what I'm is dealing with.  This is only one picture and a very small part of the story.  But it shows you that my headaches are legit.  

In the image you can see where the base of the skull is and how my 'brain' is 12mm below the base.  This results in compression against the brain stem.  The black you see around the area is CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) that is 'backed up' and not able to flow properly.

On February 17th, I will have 2 things done.  One being a Posterior Fossa Decompression (PFD).  A small piece of the skull will be removed and the 12mm of brain tissue will be cauterized.  I will also have a Cranio Cervical Fusion (CCF)
